Turns out it really is “The Climb” that matters… according to Miley Cyrus anyway.
The singer has opened up about her teen relationship with Nick Jonas. Cyrus made an appearance (along with one member of her dog battalion) on Lifetime’s “The Conversation.”
“When you’re that young, even now, if anything happens it’s the end of the world. It’s the end of your world,” she told host Amanda de Cadenet.
Now 19, Cyrus was 14 at the time of the relationship. The couple was together for two years. She previously told Seventeen magazine that she took the breakup like a typical hormone-raging teen.
“I just went into this weird funk. And I dyed my hair black,” she said. “On the day we broke up, I was like … I don’t want to look pretty; I want to look hard-core. I was rebelling against everything Nick wanted me to be.”
Cyrus managed to get through the dark and overly dramatic time with some basic common sense the middle schooler lacked: “This too shall pass," a message passed on by her father.
“I would never listen. I would always sweat the small stuff,” Cyrus told De Cadenet. “That’s something that … I needed to remember.”
What did we learn from this, fellow Hollyscoop readers? Disney channel love will never last… Time heals all wound… Both?
Regardless, it’s good to hear that Miley has moved on. She is currently in a happy relationship with Hunger Games star Liam Hemsworth.
