Celebrity jewelry Neil Lane has put a ring on many a Hollywood starlet—Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Hudson—but none sparkled harder on the internet than Miley Cyrus’.

The former Disney pop star’s 3.5 carat engagement ring, given to her by boyfriend of three years Hunger Games actor Liam Hemsworth, was a buzzworthy beauty that gained more attention than the couple’s lackluster movie “The Last Song.”

“Doing Miley Cyrus’ engagement ring, that was huge,” Neil told People TV. “It got so much attention, I was actually surprised.”

Just Google search “miley cyrus engagement ring” and be blinded by the over 2.6 million link results. People were just obsessed with the atypical floral pattern design which featured an 18-karat yellow gold band—a vintage-inspired creation that Liam designed with Neil in order to craft “something really beautiful and romantic” for his future wifey Miley.

“Liam was really happy allowing me to use gold,” Lane added. “I think it gave meaning to what [Miley] was wearing, something different, something to be proud of.” It definitely matches the girl’s personality and husky voice—a mixture of traditional and modern that covers the “something old, something new” bases for her as-of-now undated wedding. Resourceful.

The real zinger, however, is that the center stone is from an antique store; its hand-cut dated some time in between 1880–1890, meaning it’s a true original.

All the trouble one guy goes through to make sure he’s giving something completely special and original to his homegurl and you can’t even get a guy to pay for popcorn at the ArcLight on your third date. C’est la vie... This is why we watch movies!
