Miley Cyrus Blames Tabloids for Young Hollywood Tragedies

HOLLYSCOOP EXCLUSIVE
March 15, 2010
by:

So many young Hollywood stars have recently died as a result of drugs. Hollyscoop spoke EXCLUSIVELY with Miley Cyrus at the press junket for her new movie The Last Song about what she thinks is part of the problem in Hollywood. And she thinks sometimes too much pressure is put on young celebrities.

She told us EXCLUSIVELY, “If anyone looks at those situations, maybe people would stop being so mean to people that are in this business.”

Miley also thinks the need to sell tabloids is part of the problem. “But they don't,” she continued, “because if something does happen it's just another story to sell. People should learn to be respectful and realize that love makes the world go round, its not your job to sell another stupid magazine for a story that is going to be over in five minutes.”

Take it from Miley, a successful child star who is growing up right in the public eye. But despite being a huge super star, she’d appreciate a little break from fame every once in awhile. She confessed to Hollyscoop that she’s a bit of a homebody.

“I don't think you will believe this. I just live under my own little rock. I don't really read things or get out often,” she explained.

And you won’t see Miley out at the clubs any time soon. She explained, “I'm not the most social human being, I just try to ignore everyone.”

And as for those pesky tabloid stories? Miley says she doesn’t let them bother her. “I live my own life so I guess I don't really mind because it does not affect me,” she said.

Let’s hope she continues to be the savvy young actress and singer she is, and won’t get caught up in the Hollywood game that has claimed the lives of too many young stars.

Miley is wrong! It's not the tabloids causing these stars to abuse drugs. It's show business itself. When child stars are young and cute, there is a market for them, but once they grow up, and are no longer cute, there is no longer a market for them, so hollywood dumps them. They can no longer find work. Lets face it. Alot of child stars are cute young, but there looks change when they become adults. Child stars don't live in reality, so when their time is up, and can no longer find work, they turn to drug abuse. That is why it is important to invest the money they make wisely instead of throwing it away on drugs and partying. Miley is not as cute as she was when she played Hannah Montana. Hopefully she has wise people in her camp and she won't throw her money away.

I wish her the very best in her career and hope that she is happy in her life. The advances that she has made in terms of encouraging youth and entertaining them are admirable, as she is able to get a message to them where at times parents and members of the community can't, as their peer.I hope the persons that watch over her are reminded that she is a role model for youth and a youth ambassador to other nations as an entertainer, so she represents our best.

I think she looked beautiful at the Oscars, like Cinderella in that dress, tan lines and all. She has had to live her young life in the public eye which can be hard for youth to handle and is fortunate to have some good guidance and upbringing to avoid the pitfalls of drug and alcohol abuse as well as growing up too soon by staying away from the nightclubs and drinking and drug use crowds. As for Disney movies, I think that one is never too old for them .They are the type of movies we watched as children and took our children to as adults to watch and watch ourselves, so generation after generation enjoy them and the message and values they have to share for youth and adults alike.Entertainers are a protected class of persons under applications for political asylum to foreign countries, so I believe that their position in our country should be treated the same and their lives not exposed to undue scrutiny or criticism. I do not believe that enough people understand that making fun of or criticising people is emotional abuse, and after awhile it can take its toll on the human psyche unless it is deflected and seen for what it is, as a lack of understanding of the levels of abuse. I reviewed her fashion through the ages section of TeenVogue with the eyes of a parent and noted that, like many youth her age, the types of dresses, skirts and tops, and dress slacks and jackets we used to wear as teens were missing in favor of jeans or minidresses and hot pants , so I hope they come back into style for youth again, as they give a transition into adult fashion that is dressier than jeans, but not as dressy as formal wear ,and not as revealing as minidresses, for times when one wants the persons they are with to focus on work, so they were useful outfits to wear to school and afterwards on the job.

The tabloids can be cruel but the person throwing pills down their throat are to blame for their own misfortune. Miley puts herself in a bad light by saying things like 'love is my religion'. Get real.

A lot of the people who turn to drugs didn't get into the business because of their father. It's a tough business when you don't have the advantages she's had and the pressure to stay on top is too much. Her career is a fluke, when she's too old for the Disney crowd she'll feel that pressure as well.

I agree with her. But don't the public have the responsibility to boycott certain magazines and newspapers ?

I do think that that tabloids are part of the problem, but they're not the whole problem. There's many other issues and people make their own decisions and if they can't dig out of them, then they have to live with it. And Miley DID look beautiful at the Oscars.

The people who recently died were not kids. They were adults making their own decisions. There are millions of abused kids who have grown up to live lives that make them productive in society. They may have problems, but they function, and try to move on. Some suceed, some don't.

She looked horrendous at the Oscars Sophie. The top of that dress was way too small and she was slouched over the whole time. But she makes a good point about the tabloids and what they do to vulnerable celebs that actually are stupid enough to follow the tabloids and blogs. Miley is smart to just ignore them.
