The latest news out of LiaMiley (or is it MiLiam?) is that the wedding is STILL on, this from Miley's Twitter account. To keep you up to speed, we've gone through the whirlwind of coverage through the years to compile this teen love timeline of their relationship milestones. Buckle up...
August 2008 – The Last Song is in pre-production with a role written by Nicholas Sparks with Miley already in mind.
May 2009 (DESTINY AWAITS, 2009) – Liam is cast as Miley's love interest, but it was a real life romance that was almost not to be. Liam is brought in as a replacement.
June 2009 – Miley announces on her blog she'll be starring in the movie. "Hannah Montana" fans let out a collective blood-churning scream everywhere.
Summer 2009 (THE DAY OF BUTTERFLIES, 2009): Miley and Liam meet on the set of The Last Song. Their interactions were "awkward," Miley said, because she had such a crush on him. She paid a young co-star Bobby Coleman $10 to find out if he liked her back. "I sent him back and forth. It was really funny," she said. Feelings were mutual. She is 17-years-old; he is 19.
February 2010: Miley and Liam step out for the first time on a red carpet, making it official at the 2010 Academy Awards. Miley speaks out for the first time at the Elton John after-party, confirming the relationship to E! News.
March 2010: Miley and Liam step out for the premiere of The Last Song, the film they met on. Still happy here.
Summer 2010: A year into their romance, this is when the first batch of rocky relationship rumors began to roll out. The two remained stoic and showed the paparazzi otherwise, often snapped holding hands, driving around LA together, shopping, getting juices together.
August 2010 (THE FIRST TIME THEY WERE DUNZO, 2010): The first time the couple claims it'd be their last song together. After a year, they break up for the first time. Split confirmed by Liam's rep. The two go on to work on separate projects—Liam on The Hunger Games, Miley has a tour.
April 2011: The couple rekindles their romance after being apart for eight months.
December 2011: They hit the red carpet together again at the CNN Heroes event. Miley performs "The Climb," a fitting metaphor for their relationship by this point.
Spring 2012: The Hunger Games is a huge hit catapulting Liam into franchise fame.
May 31, 2012: Liam proposes to Miley with a custom 3.5-carat Neil Lane diamond ring.
Fall/Winter 2012: Everything appears to be going great. Miley has a new look, Liam appears to dig it, there are rumors they'll have four weddings, they keep taking cute Instagram photos together for the world to "like."
January 2013: Miley starts the year off gushing about her future-husband to Cosmopolitan Magazine. She calls him her "hubby" in the interview, sparking rumors they were secretly married over the holidays.
February 24–25, 2013 (THAT FATEFUL NIGHT, 2013): The month where rumors hit the wall and apparently stuck. Miley and Liam party the weekend of the Oscars at two separate after parties. Liam at the Chateau Marmont; Miley at the Elton John gala, ironically enough at the same event the two made their new romance official three years prior. Liam is captured by a paparazzo in a getaway car with January Jones. No word from either of their reps.
March 12, 2013: Liam gets some space from Miley, takes a trip to see family in Australia.
March 15, 2013: Miley tweets the wedding is still on in a subtweet, telling a friend who recently went to get a ring resized, "ugh that's the worst! I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off."
