Born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23, 1992, in Franklin (TN), Miley Cyrus is the daughter of country star Billy Ray Cyrus. In hopes of Miley achieving greatness, her mother and father named her Destiny Hope Cyrus but many nicknamed her Smiley due to her constant smiling, which was eventually shortened to Miley. Her greatness began to shine through when she started acting at the age of 8, appearing in her dad's TV series Doc (2001), followed by a small role in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003).
In 2005, Miley landed a lead role in the Disney series Hannah Montana alongside her father, which focused around a teen leading a double life as a pop star. The show was a worldwide sensation, with hit records and sold out tours following closely behind. After her great success as Hannah Montana, Miley went on to play Ronnie Miller in the romance film The Last Song (2010) alongside her now-boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, and Lola in LOL (2012) opposite Demi Moore.

Miley dated Justin Gaston, an underwear model who was four years older, for nine months until Miley ended it before flying to Australia to shoot "The Last Song."

Miley met Liam Hemsworth on the set of "The Last Song" and the two hit it off immediately. She said Hemsworth was her first serious relationship. His PR rep confirmed their break-up in August 2010.

Miley was rumored to be hooking up with Mike Posner, a successful singer, but he denied the allegations, saying "She's a nice girl, but I'm 22 and a half." At the time, Miley was 17 and barely legal.
