Snooki made a big announcement not too long ago, and now 'Jersey Shore' star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino has his own news: he's in rehab!
If you've seen the show, ever, this comes as no surprise.
A rep for the Situation tells TMZ he "has spent the past several weeks at an undisclosed location for much needed rest and recuperation after his extensive production and appearance schedule."
The Situation is reportedly in an inpatient rehab program for substance abuse. His behavior on the last couple of seasons of 'Jersey Shore' has been erratic, to say the least. But I mean, it's 'Jersey Shore', so how can you tell, right?
Mike is increasingly paranoid of the other characters on the show, constantly thinking they're talking about him behind his back. Though, to be fair, a lot of the time they are. I mean, come on. His claim to fame is lifting up his shirt.
But after he leaves rehab, Mike may be the one with the last laugh. The Situation gets paid up to a whopping 50,000 per nightclub appearance, according to TMZ.
This is all on the heels of MTV's announcing that 'Jersey Shore' will be returning for a 6th season, and it's scheduled to start shooting this summer.
A couple of seasons ago, Mike's behavior really came to a head, when he quite literally banged his head against a wall, falling to the ground. He had to be taken to the hospital, and then the rest of the season focused on him trying to convince everyone that Snooki had oral sex with him. The plotline continued into the latest season, with the general consensus of cast members being that Snooki did indeed perform fallacio on Mike.
Just to clarify, I do read books occasionally, too.
