We're used to seeing Mike Myers in a comedic role, but now this actor is taking a bold step and taking on a dramatic war film. Risky? Hardly! The movie is directed by Quentin Tarantino and stars Brad Pitt. Can you say 'Box Office Success'?

Hollyscoop caught up with Myers at the "AFI Night At The Movies" event where he gave us some insider scoop on his new movie, "Inglorious Bastards."

“It’s a World War II movie, this is a dream come true for me, I’ve wanted to be in a WW II movie my whole life. I’ve wanted to play a British general my whole life, so I can't believe I got the call."

The movie doesn't begin shooting until October 13th, but Myers has already been in close contact with the crew. “I spoke to Tarantino... marathon phone calls. He’s just such a lover of film, it’s a joy."

Tarantino's "Inglorious Bastards" is set to be released June of 2009, so we have to wait a while to see Myers and Pitt in action. But in the meanwhile, check out our exclusive interview with Mike Myers below...

This is an interesting choice! Mike Myers has just joined the cast of Quentin Tarantino's WWII action flick Inglorious Bastards. Has he ever played a serious role? Does he even know how?

Variety reports, "Myers will play British Gen. Ed Fenech, a military mastermind who takes part in hatching a plot to wipe out Nazi leaders."

Well, Quentin is so genius that we trust his decision to add Mike to the cast, joining Brad Pitt, who just signed on for the film last week. Plus anything to help Mike bounce back from the horribly reviewed Love Guru!
Funnyman Mike Myers wasn't laughing at the "The Love Guru" premiere in Australia when he had a major case of the runs.

He explains, "In Australia, when you go into a drug store you actually have to talk to the pharmacist... I was looking around and I was, like, 'Hi!' 'Hello, you're Mike Myers, how are you? What can I do for you?'" "(I said) 'I'd like Pepto-Bismol please.' 'We don't know what that is... What is it exactly, Mike?' I was like, 'It's for tummy trouble.'"

But the confused pharmacist needed him to be more specific. He adds, "(They said) 'How very interesting, you're a superstar with diarrhea' I'm like, 'Hmmm, don't feel like a superstar right now.'"

Myers had to stop at several restaurants to use the restroom before he actually made it to the premiere. See, even celebs get the runs!

Mike Myers is BACK! It’s been awhile since Myers has taken the role of an original character, but seems like the Guru’s have answered our prayers with the release of his latest film “The Love Guru.

Last night, crowds lined up outside the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre to get a glimpse of Myers who was kind enough to attempt to give everyone in the stands a high five. The star studded premiere brought Justin Timberlake who will be bringing “sexyback” with the Speedos he sports in the flick.

What’s a Myers movie without his sidekick Verne Troyer who came out on the blue carpet. He couldn't even resist as he kissed the real life Stanley Cup. Verne takes on the role of the Toronto Maple’s Leaf Coach Cherkov in the film. The Love Guru is based around Guru Pitka(Mike Myers) who is trying to help the Maple Leafs break the 40-year-old curse to win the Stanley Cup.

When we asked Myers if he believed the Maple Leaf’s would ever win the Stanley Cup he responded, “I think that the Toronto Maple Leafs need to think about what Nasa says that there is no such thing as failure, only early attempts of success. “

Speaking of success, we couldn’t help but ask Myers about the secret behind his comedy. Mike said, “I just like stuff that makes me laugh. I like comedy I never stopped loving comedy I hope to be doing it for the rest of my life."

Myers went on to say how overwhelmed he was with the turnout of the premiere. “This is all surreal, if you grew up in the suburbs of Toronto wishing to do this and watching films on TV and going 'God wouldn’t that be great.' When I was 11, I saw Saturday Night Live and I was like 'God I would love to do that one day,' so this is all a dream come true."

Myers' latest dream also features the beautiful Jessica Alba, who was fresh from her babies’ birth. The actress opted to skip the carpet but sources tell Hollyscoop exclusively that Jessica came into the theatre through the back doors in order to show her support.

Other stars that attended the premiere included Meagan Good, Romany Malco, Telma Hopkins,Mariska Hargitay, Tila Tequila and Joanne Garcia.

The Love Guru doesn’t hit theatres until June 20, 2008, until then check out our coverage from movie premiere. Always remember “Gee You Are You."

Mike Myer's flick Love Guru may be banned in India.  Apparently Hindu groups around the country have requested that India's Central Board of Film Certification and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ban screenings of the movie.

Why no love for the Love Guru? Well, since much of the population of India is Hindu, they believe the movie pokes fun at their religion.  Rajan Zed, who is the Universal Society of Hinduism president, says the film "appears to be lampooning Hinduism."

What's the fun if you can't laugh at yourself?

Are you ready for The Love Guru ? The comedy that is set to hit theatres on June 20, 2008 is causing a lot of commotion with its funny promotional videos and not to mention controversy with many Hindu leaders.

It’s been four years since we have seen Mike Myers do a live action comedy and he is coming back with a big bang. Myers wrote the script and stars as the main guy, Guru Pitka alongside Jessica Alba and Justin Timberlake.

The plot entails Myers as an American raised by gurus who returns to the USA in order to break into the self-help business. His first challenge: to settle the romantic troubles and subsequent professional skid of star Toronto Maple Leafs hockey player Darren Roanoke (Romany Malco) whose wife Prudence (Meagan Good) left him for rival skater Jacques Grande (Justin Timberlake) of the Los Angeles Kings.

Although the movie is a comedy, Hindu leaders aren’t laughing. They are worried about how Hindus are portrayed in the film. Nevertheless, Mike does put on a good show and goes deep to discuss what the actual meaning of Guru is. Check out the video below.
