Mickey Rourke to Play Villain in Iron Man 2

Mickey Rourke is making a bit of a comeback with his career! He’s even nominated for a couple awards for his role in The Wrestler. And it doesn’t stop there. Word on the street is that he’ll be joining the cast of Iron Man 2, playing a villain of course.

Mickey is rumored to play a Russian bad guy named Ivan, who then becomes Whiplash, who has deadly coils. That should throw a little wrench in Robert Downey’s plans!

In addition to Rourke joining the cast, we hear Sam Rockwell will be a part of the sequel as well. He’ll be playing the role of fellow villain Justin Hammer, a billionaire businessman who is Tony Stark’s rival. Iron Man 2 hits theaters May 7, 2010. We can’t wait!
