Michelle Williams won't be attending the premiere for the 'Dark Knight' because she reportedly had a falling out with Heath Ledger's family. According to The New York Post, Michelle is furious with Heath's father Kim, who is the executor of his estate.
Matilda is supposed to be the beneficiary of the will, but since Heath's death, Kim hasn't handed over any money. Although there are reports that Heath didn't have that much money in the bank at the time of his death, he apparently had a trust set up for Matilda that included his houses in LA and Brooklyn. And if you know anything about real estate in those two cities, you know they're worth a lot!
It's so sad that Michelle and Matilda have to deal with this when they're still mourning Heath's death. Hopefully this will be settled and won't have to be brought to court.
UPDATE: Michelle Williams' rep is denying any sort of rift between her client and Heath Ledger's family.
Mara Buxbaum issued this statement today: "The presumption that Michelle ever intended to attend The Dark Knight premiere is unfounded, but to say she is 'boycotting' due to a rift with Heath's family is absurd. It is time to allow this family to go about their lives without this continued scrutiny and speculation."
