Amanda Beard Disses Michael Phelps

Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard thought it would be a good idea to diss super-Olympian Michael Phelps. When asked if the two were dating she said "Eww! No. Come on." Like that wasn't bad enough, she went on to dig herself a deeper hole and say, "Eww, that's so nasty! ... Come on, I have really good taste."

Naturally, she didn't think of the aftermath when she said those mean comments. Now she feels like a fool so she has decided to apologize. In her apology she says, "I never meant to say anything rude about Michael. I am 100-percent sorry for what I said. I take full responsibility for it."

She then adds, "When we are sitting in the stands, we are very grateful that Michael swims for the U.S. It's cool to be a part of the team on which Michael won eight gold medals. We know each other and Michael is like my little brother. He jokes around me all the time and it's all good-natured. But obviously people who don't know me can take it the wrong way."

Does she think that apology is gonna make things better? She probably already hurt his feelings. Hey, she even hurt ours! Then again, why should Michael be hurting, he's reportedly dating a much HOTTER model than Amanda!

The issue is not whether she is a slut or skank. Personally, I don't know her but her comments about Michael were inappropriate and not funny! American atheletes have to put up with a lot of criticism from other countries about the doping scandals and their dominance in certain sports. Amanda's criticism of Phelps, a fellow American, is disgusting! Maybe she should join the French team! They are critical of Americans!

Did any of you people actually listen to the interview? It's right there below the article which is a lame attempt to create a controversy. I guess it worked on most of you though. Listen to the interview. She said "Eww! No. Come on" and "Eww, that's so nasty!" in response to the radio host suggesting the Phelps jerks off to thoughts of Amanda. She didn't say "eww" or "nasty" about Phelps.

Amanda, you were once America's sweetheart and I remember that time very well. I knew your coach Brian P very well. But you've grown up. You were a bit avant guard with your 8 piercings on each ear. Beard is good looking but i like a close shave. She's joking around, coz sometimes the media make out the lady to be some object to the 14 time gold medallist swim star, and it's her way of saying she's not that and fair enough. She tried to joke but it came across another way; she's cool. And Phelps is pretty ugly IMO. Prolly a nice fellow and he won't be scratching around for a girlfriend, but Mandy's right, he's no pretty boy dial wise. Wouldn't mind his physique though!
