Michael Phelps can go back to being a dolphin!
His swimming suspension has ended after being banned from competition for three months. Phelps is getting right back into the game with his first competition since the Olympics in Beijing.
He’ll be swimming at this weekend’s
UltraSwim in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Phelps tells the
Associated Press, "I'm happy to be back in the water and be back in semi-shape. I'm sort of getting back into racing shape and getting ready to race my first race since Beijing. We'll see how it goes."
We’re sure these months off will slow his pace down a little, but Michael will probably blow by tons of swimmers who have been training the entire time!
According to insiders, Michael has lost 20 lbs. of post-Beijing weight, and has been back into a six-day-a-week training regimen. Phelps says, “I’m happy to have some structure back in my life.”
And get ready to see a lot more of Phelps because he’s now changed his retirement plans and will be competing in the 2012 Olympics in London.
