But Michael spoke with Hollyscoop EXCLUSIVELY to disbar the rumor, saying he “did not” say he would deliberately start drinking again for that reason.
According to the story on TMZ, Michael was allegedly telling people he was going to intentionally fall off the wagon and check himself into the Betty Ford clinic to be near Lindsay Lohan -- and stage his own arrest if necessary to get his daughter's attention.
But Michael tells us otherwise. “I did not say I would fall of the wagon in order to get into Betty Ford
to see my daughter,” he explains. “In fact, after speaking to Lindsay's team, I actually
said I would do ‘anything within the bounds of the law’ to get to speak to
her and attend counseling with her.”
He goes on to say, “And if I get in trouble, so be it. It
wouldn't be the first time I got arrested for being there for my family.
In a conversation with Lindsay's team yesterday, I said, ‘If Dina
continues to put up walls preventing me from seeing Lindsay.... If I have to, I will go out to all the clubs in palm Springs and make it look like I am
drinking, (but I will have witnesses with me and keep receipts to prove I
did not). I will check into
“I am tired of things being twisted,” Michael added. “This is putting the rehab
I am opening in jeopardy, I have no doubt this came from Dina.”
This is getting so nasty! Dina and Michael really need to figure out a way to be civil—there’s enough drama going on with Lindsay right now and this is just adding to it!
