Michael Jackson's family will gather for a private funeral this morning at 8am at Forest Lawn, with a public memorial service following at Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles at 10am, but sources tell Hollyscoop exclusively that Michael's body won't be at the memorial.
A well placed source at Forest Lawn tells Hollyscoop, "They will not be taking Michael's body to the memorial. There will have a wax figure of Michael instead."
Michael passed away 12 days ago, so preserving his body for nearly two weeks would have been very difficult.
Thousands of fans are expected to show up to Staples Center today, with thousands more gathering in the streets hoping to catch the live broadcast from the Nokia theater across the street from Staples Center.
Jackson's grave will be close to that of his grandmother, who was buried at the cemetery in 1990. He will reportedly be laid to rest in a replica of James Brown's bronze casket.
The family is on the way to Forest Lawn right now for the private memorial service.
Meanwhile, the casket will be transferred to Staples Center, accompanied by a SWAT team. There is also a contingency plan to helicopter the casket to Staples if there's an issue of safety.
