Quincy Jones Won't Attend Michael Jackson's Funeral

Quincy Jones won’t be attending Michael Jackson’s funeral this coming Sunday. He was responsible for helping launch Jackson’s career, and the two were very close.

He worked with Michael on three platinum-selling albums; Off The Wall, Bad, and Thriller. But Jones says it’s just too hard for him to attend.

Quincy told ET, "I won't go to any more funerals as long as I live. I can't handle it."

Jones found closure in his own by writing a touching blog for the LA Times entitled “We Own The Night.” Here’s an excerpt from the entry:

“Michael Jackson was a different kind of entertainer. A man-child in many ways, he was beyond professional and dedicated. Evoking Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr. and James Brown all at once, he’d work for hours, perfecting every kick, gesture and movement so that they came together precisely the way they were intended to.

"Together we shared the ’80s, achieving heights that I can humbly say may never be reached again and reshaped the music business forever.”

I realize it would be difficult for him,but he should put his feelings aside for one day for Mchael and his family.I feel it's a bit selfish.Noone LIKES funerals, but it's to pay your respects to the dead and the loved ones they left behind.Quincy wasn't just an aquaintance, he's supposed to be a great friend. He should be there.
