Michael's Former Publicist Issues Controversial Statement

Michael Jackson’s former publicist Michael Levine has just issued a statement regarding the death of his former client. We’ll put it this way—he did not sugarcoat anything.

The official statement reads:

"As someone who served as Michael Jackson's publicist during the 1st child molestation incident, I must confess I am not surprised by today's tragic news.

"Michael has been on an impossibly difficult and often self-destructive journey for years. His talent was unquestionable but so too was his discomfort with the norms of the world.

"A human simply can not withstand this level of prolonged stress.''

What do you think of Levine’s statement? Should he have shown a little more compassion towards a man whom he worked for? Many think it is a little unprofessional on his part. What do you think?

I think it is time for parasites to back off - not just MJ whose situation has torn my heart for 2 decades now. Celebrities are huge targets and the cost of fame is just too high. We have other targets as well - ever notice how if you work for a large entity people are always trying to trip up an employee so they can win millions in a lawsuit? Perhaps it is time to have an open dialogue about the perils of fame and its true cost - the stress WAS too much for any human to bear. Much more I could write on this topic. Maybe some celebrities should come out with stories of crazy things "fans" have done to them and tell the true cost of protecting themselves from predatory "fans."

I'm kinda on the fence...was it necessary to phrase it the way he did? It seems a bit disrespectful.

No, I don't think it was unprofessional..he's talking to all the MJ haters who are now being hypocrites. He is saying Michael was a human being.
