Dr. Conrad Murray is the second person close to Michael Jackson who has announced he will not be attending the star’s memorial. Murray has been in seclusion for the last couple of days, after having been questioned by police in connection with Michael’s death.
A spokesperson for the doctor tells People, "He will be mourning in private because he feels his presence would remind people of Michael Jackson's death, and the doctor would prefer that people remember his friend as he was in life.”
Murray has declined to comment publicly on his care of Jackson until the results from the toxicology tests come out. He is staying out of the public eye, and his whereabouts will remain undisclosed.
Murray’s rep says he is "completely off the radar until the toxicology results are revealed. He's not even talking to friends and family, and I haven't even spoken to him personally, either."
This is so sad! Dr. Conrad Murray knew Michael better than most people. It’s a shame he doesn’t feel comfortable paying his respcts publicly to Michael at his funeral.
