Michael Jackson to Be Honored at Disneyland

September 08, 2009

Michael Jackson
Michael Jackson will be honored at one of his favorite places in the world--Disneyland.

Bosses at the Californian theme park are considering bringing back "Captain EO," a 17-minute 3D movie starring Michael, which was originally shown at the venue in the 80s and 90s.

The short film was about a space crew who were on a mission to take a present to an alien leader and stars Michael, who also performs two songs in it.

Apparently Michael fans have been writing letters to Disneyland bosses asking that they bring the famous attraction back as a tribute to him. An official statement about the attraction is expected to be made on September 10th.

Meanwhile, when a celebrity moves into a new neighborhood, it usually raises the property value of the area. Michael has managed to do just that, but from the grave.

Michael was laid to rest at Glendale Forest Lawn Memorial Park, and the cemetery has since seen an increase in interest from people asking to be buried there...and more specifically, right by Michael.

Plots near Michael’s burial spot have risen in price by between $2,000 and $3,000! A cemetery representative said: “When a high-profile person comes in, it can affect the prices of the surrounding plots.”

Some people are even using it as an opportunity to make a quick buck. One man who owns space near Michael's crypt is offering to sell his two-man space for $34,000.

The owner said: “We've had a tremendous response. We're weighing all of our options.”

It's sad that people are still making money off of Michael's death, but there are some hard-core MJ fans that would be thrilled at the possibility of being buried next to him. Would you pay that much?

BTW: This article has turned out to be a lie too, since Disney denies the story.

annieseyes2, I can see it is a compliment to call you "STUPID" because you yourself refuse to understand the dynamics of accusations, court trials and out right liers and I see you can't understand what you read although you comment correctly, you call Michael Jackson "AN ACCUSED PEDOPHILE" YES HE WAS ACCUSED BUT NOT CONVICTED. THERE IS A DIFFERENCE HUN. No one forgot that Michael Jackson was FALSELY ACCUSED 2 times but you just don't get the fact that he was "ACQUITTED" and again "READ MY COMMENT" "MICHAEL DID NOT PAY ANYONE OFF" He had no say as to his insurance company and what they decided to do. WRONG AGAIN, so far the ONLY drugs publicized to be found in his system is the drugs that the DOCTOR ADMINISTERED TO HIM, which were the drugs that killed him. Michael Jackson did not die from self administered drugs, so where are you getting your facts from? Perhaps they are coming from you not understanding what you have read. You need to do some deep research start on youtube with the documentary of "Neverland the untold story". This should wash your brains of the "tabloid" writings you hold so dear as truth.

i guess all you MJ zombies forget that his trial was the SECOND time he was accused the FIRST time he paid off the family before the trial... So when we talk about STUPIDITY MAYSAY go look at yourself. Put aside the fact that he was an accused pedophile how about the fact he was a DRUG addict. and thats what killed him. Isnt it about time that we stopped making these morons that CHOOSE to take thier own lives with drugs into heros.

It would have been a better show of support had Disney brought Captain EO back when MJ was found NOT GUILTY. I'm certain it would helped his heart heal a little. Instead Disney waits until he's dead so they can make a profit off him. Nice. And NO! I would never buy a plot near MJ just to be near him. He's in a mausoleum. Who's to say he'll never be taken from Forrest Lawn and buried at Neverland at a later date? Maybe by his children after Gramma Jackson passes and a highway is built out to Neverland. A lot can happen in 10-20 years.

Bringing back his movie is very fitting. As for whether on not I'd like to be laid to rest close to him... My burial plans are to have as much of my body recycled for others as possible--including my face. The leftover cremains will then be distributed thusly: 1/2 laid to rest beside my folks at Cunot Cemetery in Cunot, Indiana; 1/4 scattered at a part of Mammoth Cave called The Methodist Church where there are natural etchings of an angel and the face of Jesus; and 1/4 scattered at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, so I'm not personally interested. I hope that the cemetery will want to donate part of what it takes in to one or more of the causes endorsed by Michael Jackson and his family.

Annieeyes2: Get it right Michael was not found guilty of molestation. I followed that trial everyday, and I can tell you without a doubt that he was innocent. It was an absolute disgrace by a family out for money period. I was shocked by the lies which were plain to see. Your not going to Disney will leave space for the rest of us, Get a life. Dianne NZ

First, settling a lawsuit does not imply guilt. It implies that the party paying the settlement feels it's in their best interests to settle rather than to go to court, and this is often because the legal fees and time away from their work, or the bad publicity, will be worse than settling quietly. This has been said to be the decision of the insurance company, not Michael's preference. Second, he was acquitted when he later went to court for another allegation. We cannot assume he was guilty of those allegations. Folks, I don't know and none of us know whether Michael was innocent or guilty, but the indications are that he was innocent. The accuser later admitted he was coached into making the allegations because they needed money. But, the case was tried and could not result in a conviction. It's not fair to assume Michael was guilty. I can tell you that I, as a degreed teacher and a security clearance holder, have been accused of horrible things, simply to intimidate me out of reporting illegal behavior of others or to discredit me if I do. You can be the most honest, upstanding person and get accused of the nastiest crimes. Now, I never was officially accused of anything, but I also don't have hundreds of millions of dollars for greedy people to get. The motivation in the accusations against me was for the accusers to avoid jail sentences, loss of employment, and loss of professional licenses. Those kind of people know that gossip is horribly destructive to a person, no matter how innocent they are. For those who assume that a person who is accused of a crime is guilty, you are not respecting our constitution, the basic tenets of justice, or common sense. Please stop telling what appear to be lies. I personally would not let my child visit a middle aged man and sleep in his bed. But, there is no way that we can assume Michael did anything other than pretend he was a boy having a normal childhood. He should have gotten help for his mental injuries, but he didn't. He may have been molested as a young boy and possibly could have done so or had fantasies about it. We would be lying if we say we knew he did either though. Consider this: When my very bright homeschooled son needed to enter school so I could get cancer treatment, the school refused to put him directly into gifted programs because "we don't know you." They claimed it was illegal. But, my son was years ahead already. They said they had to put him in "mainstream" for a semester to "document how it harms him." I finally called the superintendent after two years of this, and she became so certain that I would sue (despite my dealing very kindly with her and simply asking for her help) that demanded a sex abuse investigation!!!! Now, there was no reason at all to think there was any sex abuse going on. But, because she knew she could get away with it and wanted me to be discredited should I sue, she went ahead with this, knowing she as a doctor's wife and the school system had more power than I did. Well, it was dropped as soon as an investigator talked to my son, but two employees of the school system told me how upset they were that she would make that false allegation. In fact, there was nothing I could do except tell others she had done this. The problem with that is that people like annieseyes2 who do not know me might believe that there was some truth to this entirely false and self-motivated accusation. So, people like annieseyes2 become abusers of innocent people while claiming they are defending the abused. What they need to understand is that false allegations are common, and they are typically made either to punish or to discredit someone who has or may report illegal or unethical behavior of another or to get money--all selfish, abusive reasons. I personally doubt that MJ sexually abused the kids. But, I really can't say either way. None of us can. All we know is that he was accused and acquitted in a court of law. We don't have a right to assume he did something that could not be proven in court.

Annie, we don't care if you decide to go to Disney but if you want to believe what he was accused for child molestation, now thats your problem. Cause we are 100% that those people did it for money. But if you don't go to Disney in California we are sure that were going to miss you there. One person less on the lines. hope you have fun in Disney in Florida. your friend.

annieseyes2, it's people like you who keep "STUPIDITY" traveling around the globe. he was "ACCUSED" anyone can be accused of something, he was not found guilty and HE PAID NOTHING TO ANYONE. HIS INSURANCE COMPANY PAID WHICH HE COULD NOT STOP THEM FROM DOING. You answered you own question, Disney would never recognize a pedophile, that is why they are recognizing Michael Jackson because they know the truth behind the lies of the "Accusers" and the "LAPD" Do some research before you make stupid comments.

I am not sure where Disney's thinking is to honor a man that has had been accused of child molestation ( That i might add he settled out of court) in a place that every child dreams of going too. Is Disney saying they welcome pedophiles? Glad i didnt book my vacation there yet. I cant seem to wrap my head around the idea of spending hard earned money to a company that has little or no regard for children.
