Michael Jackson Investigation Focusing on Manslaughter

As Hollyscoop previously reported, Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, had his clinic in Houston searched earlier today by agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration.

According to the search warrants that were served, authorities are investigating whether or not Michael's death is a case of manslaughter.

"We reviewed the warrant and remained on the premises while the search was being executed," says Murray's lawyer Ed Chernoff in a statement.

"The search warrant authorized law enforcement to search for and seize items, including documents, they believed constituted evidence of the offense of manslaughter."

Among the items taken were a "forensic image of a business computer hard drive" and 21 documents, reports People. "None of the documents taken had previously been requested by law enforcement or the L.A. Coroner's office," says Chernoff.

Meanwhile, Michael's nutritionist Cherilyn Lee has been served with a subpoena for Michael's medical records. Lee's rep says she's cooperating with investigators, and a subpoena was only necessary because his medical records are protected by the law.

Sounds like this investigation is just getting started! We expect a ton of subpoenas to be served in the next few days. Do you think it's appropriate for Michael's case to be focused on manslaughter? Tell us your thoughts.

Just let the man rest in peace, mj was aware of the drugs and the harm they could bring, so to be honest, they are both to blame. Also, mj's family was aware of his using drugs, they went to see him with concerns they should of done something right there and then to get him the help he needed. It's shame that his family want all his money and assets...they are the gold diggers....

I hope anyone and everyone involved in any drug help to Michael rots in hell. I don't usually show anger because I figure Karma will come back on these evil doers, but this is one time I really don't feel like being quiet. This is so sad and so a great loss.

He's the one who probably gave MJ his last shot. This is an inept doctor we are talking about here that was probably cheeply hired by AEG to be MJ's personal doctor. What a shame...

I strongly agree that MJ's case should be focused on manslaughter. The first one must be the last person who was with MJ, i.e. the doctor. He deserves the punishment.

Hell yes MJ's case should focused on manslaughter. I don't care if he was the biggest dope fiend. A medical doctor had no business supplying him with such dangerous drugs. Who else has this so-called doctor given such dangerous drugs to? Just because someone has money to buy whatever; it doesn't mean that a doctor of all people should sell it to him. Whatever happened to the "do no harm oath?" Great harm was done to MJ which resulted in his death and the people who caused his death should pay. I don't care if he was one step away from his grave. Hell he wasn't in it. Pay they must!
