Michael Jackson’s funeral last night, his sister
La Toya Jackson made an announcement to his fans. She issued a plea asking them to donate to the charities close to Michael’s heart.
Throughout Michael's life, he's donated millions of dollars to different organizations, most of which benefit sick or poor children.
For example, Jackson donated tickets to shows in his 1989 Bad Tour to underprivileged children. The proceeds from one of his shows in Los Angeles were donated to Childhelp USA, the biggest charity-organization against child-abuse. Childhelp of Southern California then established the “Michael Jackson International Institute for Research On Child Abuse”.
She told
Access Hollywood, “Michael has been called home to sing with the angels, I will miss him dearly. We would like to thank all of Michael’s loving fans for their tremendous support.”
“And ask that in Michael’s memory give of yourself to the charities he believed in and keep the magic going!”
La Toya will be appearing on
Access on September 14th to talk more about her brother’s legacy. Some of the organizations Michael helped to either establish or donate to are Camp Ronald McDonald, Childhelp USA, the Make A Wish Foundation, and the Heal The World Foundation.
