Katherine Jackson wants complete control over
Michael Jackson’s estate. So today she formally filed a petition with the court to be appointed administrator of Michael’s estate.
Under the Independent Administrations Estate Act, Katherine wants to be put in charge, which would strip John Branca and John McClean of their titles. They had been appointed by Michael himself back in 2002. A judge also ruled in favor of the two men keeping their positions in a recent court hearing.
Katherine may run into a little trouble, since Michael’s will has a “no contest” charge, meaning anyone who contests it will automatically get cut out of it.
On July 17, Katherine filed court papers seeking a determination if she could contest various provisions of Michael's trust without triggering the "no contest" clause.
Since Katherine is the one who will most likely end up with custody of Michael’s children, we think it’s only appropriate she’s made head of his trust since she’s obviously doing it for the right reasons.
