The biggest priority for the Jackson family right now is looking out for the well-being of
Michael Jackson's kids. The family will be going to court to fight for custody of the three children, after news broke that Debbie Rowe may be the first in line.
On the
Today show this morning, the Jackson’s family attorney Londell McMillan said there isn’t “anybody who thinks that there is someone better” when referring to Katherine Jackson getting custody.
She added, "She is a very loving host of other grandchildren."
As
Hollyscoop previously reported, Michael’s kids are staying with their grandmother.
Us Weekly reports that she was spotted over the weekend stocking up on toys and other supplies at Target.
As for Debbie Rowe, her attorney Marta Almli released her own statement, saying, "Ms. Rowe's only thoughts at this time have been regarding the devastating loss Michael's family has suffered. Ms. Rowe requests that Michael's family, and particularly the children, be spared such harmful, sensationalist speculation and that they be able to say goodbye to their loved one in peace."
We hope for the children’s sake that Katherine gets sole custody of the children. It doesn’t sound like Debbie Rowe even wants the children anyway. But she may be interested in the money from Michael’s estate that would go along with it.
UPDATE: Katherine Jackson has filed for legal guardianship of Michael’s three children, Michael Joseph Jr., Paris Michael Katherine, and Prince Michael. She is also petitioning to take over the childrens’ estate.
Today’s filing reads: "Minor children are currently residing with paternal grandmother. They have a long established relationship with paternal grandmother and are comfortable in her care."
A hearing has been set for August 3rd.
UPDATE 2: Katherine has a temporary guardianship until next Monday, when a hearing is set.
