Jackson Family Disgusted by Joe's Behavior

We're not the only ones disgusted by Michael Jackson's father Joe and his behavior following Michael's death.

Instead of mourning his son, he's been out and about promoting his new record label and making public statements on Michael's behalf--something we're sure Michael wouldn't have been happy about.

Just days after Michael passed away, his father Joe showed up to the BET Awards in Los Angeles to get some PR for his new record company.

The Chicago Sun Times newspaper reported: "Sources backstage Sunday night at the BET Awards tell me even Janet Jackson - and other Jackson family members- were 'really horrified' when they learned Michael Jackson's father, Joe Jackson, started plugging his new Ranch Records label as he walked the red carpet at the show, which was totally reworked to honor Michael's memory and legacy."

When CNN presenter Dom Lemon asked about his late son, and how Michael's mother Katherine and siblings were coping, Joe said: "They are all doing fine. But I wanted to make this statement. This is a real good statement here! Marshall and me own a record label called Ranch Records."

His business partner, Marshall Thompson added: "It's driven by Blu-ray technology, and that's his next step."

His statements really didn't come as a surprise to anyone. Joe has always been more concerned about his pocket than anything or anyone. Michael has expressed his deep dislike for his father for years, previously accusing him of physical abuse during his childhood.

We'd love to never hear another word come out of Joe's mouth. He's such a vulgar, tasteless, greedy man! What are your thoughts about how Joe is handling Michael’s death?

Joe shouldn't have been there period!!His son had just passed away 2 days prior.Who goes to a red carpet event just days after your child dies? Only an evil,money grabbing,self-absorbed Joe Jackson would. Of course the media is going to ask how the family is doing if he shows up, he knew it,and he planned on it.He was there to promote his new company and was using Michael's name, status,and the sympathy from Michael's death to do it.He's a sick evil man and I hope his company is shut out by the music industry in honor of Michael and the cruelty he endured from his fathers hands.

@kc09...my remark still stands concerning Mike's religion and how it affected him. I watched a special about Mike where they were discussing their beliefs and how he was always told the people on the outside were devils. He was scared into alot of things. His own mother set him up on dates and Mike would be too scared to do anything...so dont take it personal...you and Mike are two totally different people and it affects people differently as you can tell by his brothers. Now thats what I want to clear up.

I don't care what era you lived in or what Nationality you are, ABUSE IS ABUSE and it is WRONG!!!!!The only reason it felt "normal" to some people is because noone would step up and say it was WRONG and it's NOT NORMAL!!!! I am saddened to think that people STILL make excuses for ABUSERS!!There is ABSOLUTLY NO EXCUSE to hit another human being.Most especially an innocent child that can not defend themselves. It's simply a power trip just like rape.

@ elmo97 Whoa on that last part of Michael's religion being why he's messed up. I was raised and am a part of the religion you speak of. Never once have I considered choppin my face up, lightening my skin, or doing any of the other eccentric behaviors MJ has done to be normal or justified. After 25 yrs I'd say I'm a well adjusted adult with a strong faith in God and the bible, and there are many others I know to feel likewise. MJ was messed up by his authoritarian dad and fame point blank. Just wanted to clear that up.

Good or bad, he's the man's father. We've been hearing a lot lately about Joe Jackson and all the abuse the children suffered at his hands. In all fairness, I'd like to point out that Joe Jackson too has a story, as we all do. I don't condone child abuse, but keep in mind, what we call child abuse today, back then, was just what a lot of African American families call a good ole ass whippin. We got whipped with "switches" and belts, wooden spoons, extension cords or whatever Mama & Papa, could lay their hands on. That was considered normal in those days. I've got 4 kids of my own and I approached discipline with my children differently than I was raised. As far as Joe Jackson and his family is concerned, I'd like to point out a few facts that probably won't be mentioned by the media or anyone else. First of all, Katherine and Joe were raising these kids in Gary, Indiana. Has anyone seen Gary or even knew how it was back then? When the factories all began to close and the "steel" left, Gary was a mess. No place to raise kids. At least not in the neighborhood they were brought up in. There was prostition, gangs, drugs, etc. Joe Jackson probably was a very strict disciplinarian. He had to be. One thing we should give him credit at is the fact that none of his 9 children were drug addicts, prostitutes, involved with gangs or incarcerated in prison. All of that was because of having such a strict father in the home. No body knows Mr. Jackson's story. He may have been the way he was because of the way he was raised. I think at that time, he was raising his kids, working, promoting them the way he was so that that entire family could get out of the ghetto and out of Gary, Indiana. The choices he made he made thinking he was doing what was best for his family. They did a documentary on this family recently, and mentioned that Joe Jackson worked in the factories at that time. Several men were interviewed that worked with Joe Jackson. They commented on the fact that Joe had 9 children at home. He'd come to work with holes in his shoes and holes in his clothes. He never had a lunch and the other men would share their lunch with him. I think Mr. Jackson made a lot of sacrifices for his family during that time because he saw something in them that he capitalized on and used to the family's advantage. No, he may not have been a great father when it came to discipline, but let's at least admit, that we have 9 kids here who are the result of him being so strict. They all turned out well. Several of them known all over the world. Lastly, what do you think would have happened to this family had there not been a Joe Jackson. Especially during that time in Gary? There wouldn't have been a Jackson 5. The boys may have gone down the wrong path as many young African American men do today. None of the girls came home pregnant either or had children out of wedlock. Let's mention that too. There's something to be said for having strict parents. Again, I don't condone child abuse and I also agree that Joe Jackson has come across as being an insensitive, asshole schmuck. But even for a person like Joe Jackson when we criticize lets look at all sides and not just one.

I cannot believe you all are falling for that. Don Lemon over stepped his boundaries and asked Joe a whole bunch of questions he shouldnt have been asked on the red carpet. Did you all watch him on CNN live from the carpet? Well I did and he even got blew up by Diddy for the way they have been covering Mike. He asked him questions he knew Joe wasnt at liberty to answer. Like the second autopsy and if there where harsh feelings against the doctor... now who asks that on the red carpet? He asked the man how the family was holding up...i mean what does he think? So joe answered they are fine...he asked what's next he talked about his record label. He wouldnt have said anything about it if he wasnt asked...I just love how the media tries to flip the script on these famous people. Why was CNN even there covering the BET awards, have they ever? No, he was looking for a story. Then he took it and turned it into his own scandal. Yeah Mike may have expressed his father abusing him which I cant see how the rest werent affected if thats the case but he still loved his father and his dad was at every one of his darkest moments alongside KAte so who are you to judge how he feels about his son. He did what he had to do to get them where they are today. Joe isnt the only reason Mike was how he was. If you ever saw the documentaries you would know his religion played a part in him being a little troubled. So you all need to chill with that..People grieve in different ways. Do i think he needs to be quiet yes because the media will have a field day with trying to make him look like an idiot.

Oh.... wait, Madge and Angie only adopt kids from OTHER countries rather than their own, and Michaels kids are too white for them.I really wish Michael had made sure his children were legally adopted and protected them from Joe.Hopefully Michael's siblings will make sure Joe never gets near them. We all know Michael would NOT want Joe around them and will not be able to rest in peace until they are protected from him.So sad!! What a GREAT loss to us all!!! Michael and his brothers were not allowed to be children. This horrible man, Joe Jackson, should have been incarcerated for child abuse the way he beat them. The only thing he wanted was the money they would make for him. He will be judged severely for his actions some day!

He's an ASSHOLE!!!I really hope that those kids are NOT put with Michaels parents. Joe is an abuser and she just stands by and watches it. Those kids will end up screwed up like Michael.I hope one of his brothers or sisters will step up to the plate.Otherwise, put them up for adoption,. Maybe Angie or Madge
