How Michael Jackson's Kids Spent Anniversary of His Death

Michael Jackson's kids Prince, 13; Paris, 12; and Blanket, 8 may have had the most famous celebrity in the world as their father, but at end of the day they're just regular kids.

While the world remembers and honors the late Michael Jackson, his kids Prince, Paris and Blanket escaped to Hawaii with Michael's mother Katherine Jackson.

How Michael's Kids are Coping With Death

The kids were spotted on a quick family getaway in Maui with Katherine, a security team and friends, reports People magazine. Katherine reportedly wanted to treat the kids to some fun in the sun, away from the pesky paps, but the shutterbugs found them.

Paris, who is reportedly still having a hard time coping with the loss of her father, seemed to be the only one with a solemn look. Prince and Blanket seemed to just be enjoying their time swimming in the pool and the ocean.

Katherine Jackson Blasts Joe Jackson

Says a source close to the Jackson family: "Early on, Paris didn't think she could live without her father … she just didn't know how she was going to function. But [Katherine] has been so supportive of her that Paris is much better."

"You have to remember that everybody in that family was suffering from grief, so Michael's kids never felt alone in it," the source continues. "That helped them to become stronger."

Katherine is expected to attend a memorial service for Michael in Gary, Ind., later today. She's rumored to be unveiling a monument in honor of the late King of Pop.

Thousands of fans are expected at his burial site at Forest Lawn in Glendale, Ca. today. It's been a year since his death, yet we're all still in disbelief. Rest in peace Michael...everyone misses you dearly.
