Debbie Rowe Will Not Attend Michael's Memorial

A ticket was set aside for her as a VIP to the memorial. Mark Schaffel, a former associate of Michael’s, told GMA this morning, "Debbie will attend. We just got confirmation last night from the people who are handling the VIP seats that they do have Debbie's seats and she will be attending.”
But she has since changed her mind and will not be attending. Her attorney, Marta Almli, says, "The onslaught of media attention has made it clear her attendance would be an unnecessary distraction to an event that should focus exclusively on Michael's legacy. Debbie will continue to celebrate Michael's memory privately."
Schaffel went on to say Debbie has been trying to get in touch with the Jackson family, saying, "There has been outreach, unfortunately, like so many cases, there's so much going on that they just have not been able to make contact. There were several tries, just for the fact of phone numbers that had changed, you know, answering machines that were full. Contact had not been able to happen prior."
As for the custody battle, Schaffel said, "All I can say is the only one that could give an answer to that would be Debbie Rowe's lawyers, and they're the only ones that could make any kind of official statement on that or obviously make any statement regarding that.”
We think this was probably a good decision for Debbie not to show up to the memorial tomorrow. What do you think?
