Michael Jackson's will was revised just three weeks before his sudden death last Thursday, June 25, but the exact contents of the will are still unknown.
Although the King of Pop has an enormous musical legacy, he also had an enormous amount of debt--approximately $500 million.
According to reports, Michael had rehired attorney John Branca to revise his will in case of a tragedy. Branca said he hadn't filed the will yet, but insists Michael asked for the new changes, which includes naming
Janet Jackson the executor of his estate.
But Michael's parents insist he died "intestate," meaning without a will. Earlier this morning during a press conference when Joe Jackson was asked if he had seen Michael's Will, he said, "No, not yet."
Joe and Katherine Jackson filed a petition in court this morning asking a judge to put Michael's mother Katherine in charge and name her administrator of the division of Jackson's assets.
Katherine has already been granted temporary guardianship over his three children, but will have to wait until July 6th to find out if her guardianship will be name permanent.
Whatever the case is with the will, we just hope Michael's three kids are well taken care of and portions of his estate are ultimately left in their name. We still don't know the exact contents of his will, but we'll keep you guys updated as soon as we hear more!
