Michael Douglas is coming back with a vengeance. He’s not only slated to play Liberace in his first film since beating cancer, he’s making an appearance in Hollywood this weekend!

He plans on being present at the Golden Globes this Sunday, where he’s a nominee for best supporting actor in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.

Douglas is also jet-setting down to Palm Springs today to the film festival there, where he’s receiving the Icon Award for his body of work. “I’m really happy with my batting average,” Douglas told People.

As for his next film, Michael says he’s been researching the role.
“I’ve been watching a lot of tapes of him," Douglas said. “He wasn’t the greatest dancer nor the greatest singer, but he was a great pianist and entertainer.”

Let’s hope he’s not pushing himself too hard too soon, because we’re ready to have Michael Douglas back in action for good!
