Michael Douglas announced that he has throat cancer just a few weeks ago, but he claims he's very optimistic about recovery.
Michael spoke to People magazine about radiation and chemo, telling the mag, "It's a fight...It really knocks you out."
He's undergoing a grueling course of radiation and chemotherapy to treat a tumor at the base of his tongue. He told David Letterman that his throat cancer is at stage IV?.
"The hardest part is seeing his fatigue, because Michael is never tired," his wife Catherine Zeta Jones tells the magazine. She says Michael told their children Dylan, 10, and Carys, 7, the difficult news himself: "Daddy sat them down and told them he has cancer now."
But, says Zeta-Jones, "if there's anything Michael has, it's strength."
The good news is that the chances of him recovering are very high. Our thoughts are with him and his family right, stay strong Michael! For more on Michael pick up the new issue of People out on newsstands Friday.
