Michael Douglas is having one of the toughest years of his life, but he’s still keeping his family a number one priority. As you know, Douglas’ son Cameron is currently serving time for being caught in a meth ring. And Michael isn’t letting his throat cancer stop him from seeing his son.
According to reports, Douglas has been making regular visits to see his son Cameron behind bars, even though it’s quite a long trip for him—Michael lives in NYC, and Cameron is serving time in Pennsylvania.
"Michael is still visiting with Cameron," the actor's longtime friend and publicist Allen Burry tells RadarOnline.com. "He's not going every day and not as often as he would like, but he is still visiting with him."
According to the Lewisburg handbook, Michael and Cameron meet in the visitors' room located within the prison camp grounds. The prison is nearly 200 miles from New York City.
As for Michael, he’s done with treatment at this point, and is currently recuperating from chemo and radiation.
It’s pretty amazing that he has the energy to make those long trips. But Douglas and his wife Catherine Zeta-Jones are such family-oriented people, so we’re not too surprised.
We’re pulling for him during this tough time, and wish him a full recovery!
