Prior to the sad news of his sudden death, Michael Clarke Duncan planned to marry his longtime girlfriend Omarosa Manigault.
The Green Mile actor passed away this weekend leaving behind his secret fiancé, Omarosa. The couple was reportedly engaged and planning to marry in January.
TMZ reports that Omarosa and Michael had only told close friends and family about the engagement. They were planning to wed in January of 2013.
The couple wanted to keep their nuptials a secret from the media leading up to the big day.
According to TMZ, Omarosa and Michael were planning their wedding at the time that he went into cardiac arrest earlier this year. It was later reported he suffered from a myocardial infraction.
As Hollyscoop previously reported, the 54-year-old actor was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital in July when his heart failed. Waiting for a response team to arrive, Omarose was able to resuscitate Michael with CPR.
Michael remained in the ICU until earlier this month but had yet to fully recover from the infraction. He was still in the hospital at the time of his death.
TMZ reports that Omarosa is devastated by his death and had been fighting to save his life, including having doctors flown in from all over the world. He passed away on Monday, September 3.
Omarosa has returned to Los Angeles in the wake of the news. She had left town for a prior engagement before Michael’s death. She was spotted sobbing at LAX.
In addition for his Oscar-nominated role as John Coffey in Green Mile, Michael was involved in a number of projects leading up to his death, including starring in three films and the new FOX television series, “The Finder.”
