The Green Mile star will be laid to rest this weekend…
A private, invite-only memorial service has been scheduled for Sunday. The news follows the tragic shock of the actor’s sudden death earlier this week.
According to TMZ, Bishop Charles Blake will preside over the service. The eulogy will be provided by Dr. H. Beecher Hicks.
In addition to the service, a public viewing of Duncan’s casket is scheduled for Sunday between 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Hall of Liberty in Forest Lawn, Los Angeles.
At the moment, it is unclear as to who is on the official guest list, but we can guess that it will at least feature the actor’s past on screen colleagues like Bruce Willis and Tom Hanks.
Michael’s The Green Mile co-star has since released a statement that he is “terribly saddened ... at the loss of Big Mike.”
Hanks continued, “He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of The Green Mile. He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned.”
The actor passed away of natural causes on Monday.
Duncan is survived by his fiancé Omarosa Manigault. The couple was reportedly planning to wed in January of 2013 at the time of his death.
The actor had suffered from a myocardial infarction in July. Omarosa was with him at the time and performed CPR until a medical team arrived and rushed him to the hospital.
Though he was moved from the ICU, Duncan had yet to leave the hospital.
