Meryl Streep just landed her 17th Oscar nomination for her leading role as Margaret Thatcher in the biopic “The Iron Lady.”

This means that Meryl Streep is the most nominated actor in history, man or woman! I wonder what expletives she’ll share with us when she goes to pick up her award?

After Streep misplaced her glasses and dropped that “s” bomb at the Golden Globes, Meryl Streep joined an elite group of individuals who have to be bleeped out on live TV, I’m referring to the cast of “Jackass” and rappers. Just rappers in general.
Nominations for the 84th annual Academy Awards were announced this morning in Beverly Hills, and to no surprise, the Artist has dominated the nominations list.

The Artist, The Descendants and The Help take the clear lead, dominating most of the major categories. The Oscars will air live on February 26th, but in the meanwhile, here is the list of the nominees.

Celebrities are some of the most privileged and lucky people in the world. Aside from, you know, having their every move documented and criticized and all.

I know, I can hear your hearts breaking, too.

Most of the time, with fame comes fortune, and celebrities are pretty fortunate. So it’s nice when they decide to give some of that back in the form of charity. The folks at the non-profit organization The Giving Back Fund have put together a list called Giving Back 30, which honors celebs who have written the biggest checks to charity.
Awards season has finally begun! The Critics Choice Movie Awards aired on VH1 last night and it’s one of my favorite awards show because, like the Golden Globes, the celebrities sit around large circle tables, get drunk, and rub elbows with one another. Here are some highlights from the night.

What I learned about celebs while watching them eat: Emma Stone introduced herself to Meryl Steep at one point, George Clooney laughs at everything and loves whispering in people's ears, Charlize Theron is friends (friendly) with the ladies of “The Help,” Busy Philipps and Michelle Williams are besties, and Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t mingle much.
Glenn Close thinks that there is ageism in Hollywood, which means that nobody wants to give parts to older actors.

According to Close, there are not enough good movies being made about characters that are older because she thinks there aren't enough flicks about the pre-baby boomer generation.

"I think it's a lack of great stories," Close told Hollyscoop
Meryl Streep thinks she should write a book, of all the speeches she’s prepared for Oscar wins, but didn’t actually win.

At first I thought she was writing a book on how to write an Oscar speech. Step 1: Look Surprised Step 2: Make a comment on how you “didn’t write anything” Step 3: Thank your agent first, God second, spouse third.
Get ready to see a whole lotta Clooney for the next few months. What’s that, you’ve been ready? You were born ready? Me too, my friend. Me too.

George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Leonardo DiCaprio have been dominating the nominations this awards season. With movies like J. Edgar, The Descendants and Moneyball out, it’s no surprise.

The Screen Actors Guild has just announced its nominees for the 2012 Screen Actors Guild Awards, and Pitt, DiCaprio and Clooney are all nominated for Outstanding Performance By A Male Actor In A Leading Role. With Leo’s talent, I’m pretty sure he could do a remake of Harry and the Hendersons, and he’d somehow still get nominated.

These seasoned Hollywood pros will go up against relative unknowns Demian Bichir and Jean Dujardin. Bichir stars in A Better Life and Dujardin is the lead in the silent throwback, The Artist.

Michelle Williams is nominated for her work in My Week With Marilyn. It’s well-deserved. As much as Hollywood starlets love to channel the icon, Williams proved that it takes more than just a bleach job and a Playboy shoot. Sorry, Lindsay.
Hollywood is filled with too many hot twenty-something, talented 30 year olds, and respected talents in their 40's and 50's, but what about the stars that are pushing it over the hill, and I mean waaayyy over the hill? These are the sexiest sexagenarions, the awesome old people and just our favorite over 60 stars.

These are our favorite "Over-60" stars:

Helen Mirren: Err, I mean, DAME Helen Mirren, which means she's a knight, like a lady knight, and while I don't know what that means, it's probably really cool. Helen Mirren was voted the Sexiest Lady over the age 60 by AskMen.com and when Hollyscoop asked her about the honor she joked, "[It] sucks, I can't tell you. So depressed." The gracious 66 year-old has a hot bod too, which inspired SNL to create a digital short called "Helen Mirren's Boobs."

Kirstie Alley: I kind of forgot about Kirstie Alley for a while but then she appeared on "Dancing With The Stars" reportedly lost 100 pounds and is now strutting her stuff like some kind of 60-year-old show pony. Don't get me wrong, she looks super hot and is doing runway shows during fashion week for designer Zang Toi, she also is taking full advantage of her hotter-cougar status saying, "This is what I think about sex. I think it's fun to hookup every night for six months...Then it's time to move on!"

If being famous isn't awesome enough, some celebrities' biggest fans are other celebrities. When you're in the public eye, it seems like you'd be immune to getting star struck. But there's always another star that will make a celeb lose their minds.

Hollyscoop asked celebrities about their biggest celebrity fans, and here's what they had to say.

Viola Davis: Meryl Streep: Hollyscoop asked the star of The Help if another celebrity has ever told her they're a fan. "Yes they have, it's wonderful. Meryl Streep, that's a big one!" That's a huuuuuge one. It doesn’t get any bigger than Meryl Streep.

Emma Stone: Selena Gomez: Selena Gomez loves Emma Stone, even calling Stone her mentor. Stone expressed her flattery, saying, "That is very sweet."

Forbes has revealed Hollywood’s highest paid actresses, and no, quantity doesn’t necessarily match quality.

Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker top the list, each bringing in $30 million between May 2010 and May 2011. Apparently, producers believed people were actually going to sit through Salt.

Alright, alright. Because these two donate so much to charity, I can’t give them too hard of a time. Besides, I think opening weekend of Sex and the City 2 speaks for itself.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon come in third, and at this point, I think it’s safe to take your hand off your mouse, stand up...
