Melissa McCarthy just scored her own Emmy nomination for her role in Mike & Molly. It's been an amazing year for the actress, who starred in the hilarious hit, Bridesmaids.
Hollyscoop talked to McCarthy, asking her about her recent rise to fame.
"It's craziness," she told HS shortly after announcing the nominations in Los Angeles this morning. "I'm just glad to be working, so I'll take it."
McCarthy is the cousin of actress Jenny McCarthy, so funny must run in the family. She starred in Gilmore Girls, but McCarthy made a name for herself as a comedy actress in the first season of the Chuck Lorre created show, Mike & Molly.
Between this Emmy nod and recruiting Ashton Kutcher, Chuck Lorre has overcome the Charlie Sheen meltdown with his head held high. McCarthy says of Ashton's new role:
"I think it's going gonna kill. I think its fantastic. Ashton is such a great guy. He brings such a good energy,"
And like the rest of us, McCarthy can't wait to see the next season:
"What a total mix up," she tells us. "What a big change. I can't wait to see the first [episode]."
The season nine premiere of Men will air on September 19th. Season two of Mike & Molly returns September 26th.
