Everyone’s favorite crazy aunt, Melissa McCarthy, is having the time of her life this awards season. She could probably use some help when it comes to talking to celebrities, though.

On the Ellen DeGeneres show, Melissa revealed a conversation she had when talking to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Hollywood’s “It” couple.

Melissa McCarthy is in the Oscar game, and that means she’ll be hobnobbing with red carpet veterans and Academy A-listers. Let’s hope she doesn’t channel her Bridesmaids character.

McCarthy admits there’s one celebrity she’s nervous about meeting.

“I hope I can figure out something else to say to Glenn Close other than 'Holy sh-t you're Glenn Close,' " McCarthy said after getting the news of her Oscar nod Tuesday morning. “I just think she makes beautiful, smart, perfect decisions in her characters and roles she plays. She looms very large to me.”

Melissa McCarthy got stiffed before she got her big break.

The Bridesmaids actress says that the very first time she got fired, it was while she was working at a restaurant in New York City. But she had a good reason—she ran after a drunk guy that bailed on his tip.

"Some guy that was incredibly bombed left like an $1,800 bill," the Emmy winner says. "Security was supposed to catch him, but they didn't. I went and found him two bars down, still drunk."

What is security for if not to stop people from stealing? Well, leave it to Melissa McCarthy to put a man in his place.
The 63rd annual Primetime Emmy Awards were held tonight at the Nokia theater in Los Angeles tonight. There were a lot of surprises and repeat winners tonight, but overall it was a fantastic show. Jane Lynch, who won an Emmy last year for her role as Sue Sylvester on the FOX series "Glee," hosted the ceremony, and did an amazing job.

Modern Family scored 17 nominations this year and went home with most of them. Bridesmaids star Melissa McCarthy won her first Emmy for the CBS comedy series "Mike & Molly, as well as Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell of the ABC sitcom "Modern Family."

Melissa McCarthy just scored her own Emmy nomination for her role in Mike & Molly. It's been an amazing year for the actress, who starred in the hilarious hit, Bridesmaids.

The 2011 Emmy Nominations were announced today and Mad Men led the pack with an impressive 19 nominations. Boardwalk Empire and Modern Family also did amazing with 18 and 17 nominations respectively.
