Sorry all you hopeful potential blond cougar victims, or obsessors over animated heavily accented cats and bees with total swag, Melanie Griffith and Antonio Banderas are doing “absolutely fine” together.
Despite recent mumblings to the contrary, a source told People magazine that the couple “really are very happy together."
So what started the rumor mill a churning?
They have publicly admitted to having to actively work on their relationship in the past. And in September, Banderas told AARP The Magazine that they "have had as many problems as anybody."
Then in the spring he was busted in Cancun (there for a film) nightclubbing it up with a blonde, who wasn’t his wife.
And at the Cannes Film Festival this year, the Latin lover was dancing with actress Mallika Sherawat, who’s definitely not a blond, nor his wife.
As for Griffith, her wedding ring seems to be an optional accessory as of late, making appearances with her at times, getting left home at others.
Regardless, another source assures People that though Banderas is currently filming in Budapest, “they'll be together again as soon as he's done."
The two met in 1995, and married in 1996 after her second failed attempt to be Don Johnson’s wife.
Griffith has two children from previous marriages, and one daughter with Banderas.
She has also had issues in the past that required a couple of stints in rehab.
Of their first meeting, Banderas thought she was a "sweet, vulnerable soul, funny, also very smart and generous." She thought he was bit of an ass.
"The first thing he asked me was my age. I said, 'That's the rudest thing anyone has asked me first.' But there was just something about him. Still is. I just love him."
And we kind of love them together, we wish them continued happiness in their marriage.
