Nothing Scary about this Spice Girl… Unless you’re afraid of boobs.
Mel B of the ‘90s UK girl power pop group, is getting her charity on, donating her naked body to the greater good. The Spice Girl is posing topless in this month’s issue of the UK’s Cosmopolitan in order to promote breast cancer awareness.
The British pop star poses with her chiseled husband, Stephen Belafonte, in a stylized black-and-white photo.
Mel stands in front of Belfonte, who helps keep things PG-13 using his hands to cover her breasts.
“I love boobs,” says Mel. “Me and the other Spice Girls are always having a feel of each other’s – Geri [Halliwell] came up behind me and grabbed mine the other day."
Also appearing in the issue in a similar pose is Dancing On Ice runner-up Jorgie Porter and her boyfriend. The shots are a reenactment of Janet Jackson’s infamous 1993 Rolling Stones cover.
The campaign is an effort to promote, CappaFeel!, a breast cancer awareness charity aimed at a younger generation.
In the associated article, Mel B opens up about a cancer scare that she experienced in her teens.
“I found a lump when I was 17 and freaked out. It turned out it was nothing but it terrified me,” she tells Cosmo.
Adding a touch of inappropriateness to the already saucy pictures, the Spice Girl gives self-breast checks a comedic edge.
"Checking your boobs can be scary – you don’t want to find anything,” Mel said. “But it’s so important you do as it could save your life. James and I make it fun – plus, I check his bits too!”
The topless Mel B issue the British Cosmopolitan hits stands September 13.
