There you have it, folks. The raging temper of Mel Gibson has gotten the Braveheart star into the headlines once again.
Screenwriter Joe Eszterhas has released an audio recording of Gibson exploding throughout his Costa Rica home.
There were a lot “f-”s and “c-sucker”s… “Mother” this, and “filthy” that… You get the picture.
Houseguests hid in the dining room, as Gibson stormed about, apparently so upset that he had not received a draft from Esztherhas on a project called “The Maccabees” he felt the need to knock down a totem pole.
Esztherhas’ son Nick, who was with his father, recorded the incident on his iPod and insisted that his father release the tape to the press.
According to Esztherhas, other houseguests who witnessed the rampage include Esztherhas’ wife Naomi, Gibson’s friend Brad Hillstrom, screenwriter Randal Wallace, and his girlfriend Elizabeth Top.
The screenwriter finally released the tape after Gibson called him a liar for a nine-page letter he drafted laying out the hard-core Christian’s previous antics, including – but not limited to – anti-Semitic remarks and threatening violence to ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
“The bottom line is it shows to me he badly needs help,” Esztehas told TheWrap. “My interest isn’t to damage him with this tape but to prevent damage being done to others.”
If you have not seen a picture of Esztherhas, I can assure you that this is no sissy. Esztherhas is a pretty bad-ass-lookin’ dude. So, if you’re scaring him, it must be serious.
Gibson has been known for his rants, so this doesn’t really come as a surprise as it does the next chapter in his textbook of crazy.
According to TMZ, sources connected to Gibson claim that the actor is considering suing Eszterhas for recording him, citing his “basic human right.”
Sorry, Mel. Basic human rights only apply to actual human beings…
