Mel Gibson is Angry Again

Mel Gibson

Note to self: Never challenge Mel Gibson. TMZ has learned that Mel Gibson got really pissed last night and exploded on a college campus after an expert on Mayan culture accused him of racially stereotyping the Mayans in the movie "Apocalypto." Oh ohhh that’s not a good sign.

Gibson was speaking to a film class last night at CSUN about his movies and several members of the Mayan community came to listen. After the presentation the audience was allowed to ask questions. That was when Alicia Estrada, an Assistant Professor of Central American Studies at CSUN, challenged Gibson. Shw asked him if he had read about the Mayan culture before shooting the controversial film. Gibson said he had.

She then stated that representations in the movie that the Mayans engaged in sacrificial ceremonies and had bloodthirsty tendencies were both wrong and racist. That seemed to really piss of Gibson because he reportedly exploded in anger responding, "Lady, F**k off."

Gibson was really angry at the fact that the Mayan community members protested on how they were portrayed in the film. At that time Mayan members were escorted out of the room, and Gibson gave a parting message to the community-- "Make your own movie!"
Gibson's publicist, Howard Rubenstein said, "He needs more anger management training. It's time to be cool."

Mel should make a couple of comedies to smooth out his image problems. Perhaps he should star in a movie as the younger brother of a character played by Tom Selleck. Together the duo would be great. Maybe a comedy-drama buddy cop movie. Like Magnum meets Martin Riggs type schlick. Well it's a thought.
