Mel Gibson Cries Extortion, Claims Innocence

We were wondering how Mel Gibson was going to get himself out of this ridiculous mess he’s gotten himself into. And now we know! He’s going to claim he’s…wait for it…innocent!

According to TMZ, Gibson’s lawyers have scheduled a meeting with the Sheriff’s Department to not only present evidence that Mel is innocent, but also to claim Oksana Grigorieva committed extortion.

Pretty ballsy of him if you ask us. Keep in mind, Gibson is currently being investigated for domestic violence, child endangerment and assault with a deadly weapon.

His defense against Grigorieva is that she extorted Mel by telling him she would sell him the tapes she secretly recorded during their fights. Gibson’s lawyers will reportedly make a case that she lied about the leak of the tapes, and made false statements.

Both of these things are felony crimes, and sources say Gibson has every intention of requesting a criminal investigation be opened against Oksana.

Just as we expected, this is getting reeeeallllly ugly. Mel’s claims seem a little outlandish, but we fully expected him to fight back. Stay tuned!
