Mel Gibson and his pregnant girlfriend
Oksana Grigorieva were in the mood for a party Wednesday night when they attended the grand opening of
Playhouse nightclub, a new hotspot in Los Angeles.
Gibson and his girlfriend snuck into the club from the back entrance to avoid the red carpet arrival line and settled into their VIP area. They joined 15 other friends, most of which seemed to be friends of hers.
One club-goer tells
Hollyscoop exclusively that "Mel looked so happy and in love" at the club. And “they genuinely seemed to be having a great time together. “
The group seemed to be celebrating something, as most of them were making a lot of toasts. Mel and Oksana seemed to be in good spirits and were hoping for a great night out on the town. Unfortunately, all they got was trouble.
A Life & Style reporter posing as a fan tried to snap a picture of Gibson and his girlfriend, but his security team immediately took the camera and deleted the pictures.
The pushy reporter didn't stop there as she sent her friend
Karlis Gajevskis to take another picture. That's when Mel stepped in and attacked Gajevskis because he was fed up with everyone trying to snap a photo of him partying.
Eyewitnesses tell
Hollyscoop that Mel Gibson was really respectful to the media and when he was asked for the photo originally, he politely refused. But the reporter and her friend were really pushy, even pretending to be apart of the VIP table in order to snap a photo.
Our source tells
Hollyscoop exclusively that "Mel approached the guy who tried to take his picture and ripped his shirt."
The source added that Gajevskis quickly left and was on his way to the police station to file a battery report against Mel Gibson. The whole incident must have upset Mel as well because he left the club shortly after.
