Matthew Perry Taking Time Off to Sober Up
Matthew Perry issued a statement to TMZ on Thursday saying:

"I’m making plans to go away for a month to focus on my sobriety and to continue my life in recovery. Please enjoy making fun of me on the world wide web.”

Well, geez. It's not the same when you call us out on it. And it's kind of hard to make fun of you when you haven't really been relevant lately. Oh wait, I did it!

While he's currently starring in the ABC comedy series Mr. Sunshine, Perry says he's taking this action as a "proactive" measure.

I really wish I could pull that at my job. "I'm gonna take a month off, I foresee a possible cocaine addiction. No, I've never tried it, but you never know. Wanna be careful. I'll be in Madrid if you need me."

Perry is likely working on an addiction to prescription medication.

He entered rehab in 1997 and 2001 for an addiction to prescription pills.
