Well, I guess it’s not so top-secret anymore?
Matthew McConaughey and his longtime girlfriend Camila Alves got engaged sometime around Christmas. I mean, they already have two kids together and have been dating for 6 years, so a wedding at this point is kind anti-climactic.
But still, this is all very exciting!
Sources tell E! News that the two are planning to tie the knot in a “weekend affair” in Texas.
The couple have a home in Texas, which is probably why they are taking the plunge there and not L.A. Also, it would be impossible to avoid the paps in L.A.
Apparently, the vendors involved in the nuptials had to sign a nondisclosure agreement. I wonder who spilled the beans?
The source also revealed that only two-dozen close friends and family are invited. Alves was supposed to be honored at a charity luncheon but is sending in her acceptance speech via video because she has to be close-to-Texas to work on the wedding plans. Those oh-so-secret plans that we aren’t supposed to know about.
When the couple got engaged, McConaughey did a rare thing of blasting the news across the Internet. He wrote on his WhoSay account, “Just asked Camila to marry me, Merry Christmas.”
There were also some reports that the couple were going to tie the knot in Brazil. But like most things in Hollywood, it appears that may be an illusion.
I can’t wait to see the wedding photo on the cover of some entertainment news magazine next week! Err, I mean, congratulations!
