Oh please let it be true! Matthew Broderick has just released a mysterious new Youtube video that features the former Ferris Bueller actor in a 10 second clip that shows the now 49-year-old actor reciting those famous first words from the iconic film.
Broderick pulls back the curtains, stares directly into the lens and says, “How can I handle work on a day like today?” which is meant to parody his lines from the film, “How can I possibly be expected to handle school on a day like this?”
And that’s it, leaving fans to wonder, what is this?! Viral Marketing? A student project? The Illuminati!
After the clip ends, the date 2.5.12 is stamped on screen, which is also the same day as the Super Bowl.
The description for the video reads, “Ferris Bueller 2? I guess we’ll find out at the Super Bowl!”
Ugghh, if this is just a really creative way to get vintage John Hughes movie fans to go watch the Super Bowl then I will be very disappointed.
Also, the company behind the advertisement will be revealed during the Super Bowl telecast. I really hope it’s not Doritos.
What has Broderick even been up to lately, besides being married to Sarah Jessica Parker? Maybe this was just a brilliant guerilla marketing tactic to get people to give him jobs again, regardless if there is a Ferris Bueller sequel?
Either way, good job Hollywood. I just wrote 250 words on a 10 second clip and now I plan to watch the Super Bowl even though I cannot stand professional sports or buffalo wings.
