Matt Lauer

“This is my family,” Matt said, as his co-anchors and crew applauded him. Lauer signed a long-term contract to keep his job as co-host. NBC originally announced the news on Thursday night.
‘Today’ has been number one in the weekly ratings since 1995, but lately, ‘Good Morning America’ has been catching up.

Ryan Seacrest has been rumored to be in talks to take Matt Lauer’s place as host of the ‘Today,’ show. So it got really awkward when NBC made Matt interview Ryan Seacrest on the ‘Today’ show.
"What kind of conversations have you had with NBC about joining the ‘Today’ show?" Lauer asked. Ryan joked: "They didn't tell you?!"
Matt laughed, then grabbed him by the collar and said, “You think this is some sort of joke, pretty boy?!”

As much as I love Matt Lauer (and I do, he’s like that safe guy that you settle down with who thinks that adults taking vacations to Disneyworld Florida is normal) but I just love Ryan Seacrest so much more.
Sources told the Wall Street Journal that Seacrest is a “possible successor” for the morning show, and he has reportedly already met with executives for the show earlier this week.

Anchor Ann Curry will replace Meredith alongside Matt Lauer. So far no word on whether Matt will stay on board once his contract expires next year.
"This is a difficult day for me. I'm trying hard to hold it together," Vieira said while laughing and holding back tears. Her final day will be "in a few weeks," said co-host Matt Lauer.

Earlier in the interview, Matt showed a clip of Kanye stealing the mic from Taylor Swift at the 09 VMA's and asked about the comments he made about Bush, which is when Kanye went nuts. "Yo, how am I supposed to talk if you gonna run this thing in the middle, while I'm talking?" Kanye asked. "Please don't let that happen again, it's like ridiculous."
Matt then asked Kanye to look at George Bush's face in a clip before responding. "I didn't need you guys to show me the tape in order to like prompt my emotion to what I'm going to say," a visibly upset Kanye says. He even asked people behind the camera to "be quiet for a second" so he can think of what he's going to say.
"I came here to say that I made mistakes, that I've grown as a person," Kanye says. "It's not as easy as boxing someone into a villain role or a race role. I did not have enough information in that situation to call [Bush] a racist."
So it's official, Kanye is a bit nuts. All Matt was doing was recapping the things Kanye has said and done so he can clear him name and what does Kanye do? Get all crazy on Matt's ass. Check out the clip below...

This time he’s pissed off at the Today Show’s Matt Lauer for his “brutal” interview with him.
Lauer brought up the time in 2005 when West said “George Bush doesn’t care about black people,” when referring to Hurricane Katrina. He gave Kanye a chance to redeem himself, which he did during the interview.
Lauer then had George W. Bush on the show, and played back the clip of Kanye saying he had no right to call the president a racist. Bush, who was on the show to promote his new book Decision Points, mentions in the book that Kanye’s remarks, as well as many others’, was a low point of his presidency.
Kanye West: I'm a Bad Celebrity
But that’s where Kanye had to get the last word…he went on a Twitter rage of epic proportions today…here’s what he wrote:
"Man I'm heading to Abu Dhabi finna go to Ferrari Land YESSSS!!! ....but before I take off let me tell you how they did me at the Today show," West tweeted. "I went up there to express how I was empathetic to Bush because I labeled him a racist and years later I got labeled as a racist. While I was trying to give the interview they started playing the 'MTV' under me with audio!!!!!!! I don't mess with Matt Lauer or the Today Show ... and that's a very nice way for me to put it! HE TRIED TO FORCE MY ANSWERS. IT WAS VERY BRUTAL AND I CAME THERE WITH ONLY POSITIVE INTENT. I feel very alone very used very tortured very forced very misunderstood very hollow very very misused. I don't trust anyone but myself! Everyone has an agenda. I don't do press anymore. I can't be everything to everybody anymore. I can't be everybody's hero and villain savior and sinner Christian and anti Christ!"
He continued: "I can't take anymore advice. I create, I'm creative, I have a good heart, everyone will see and understand one day. Everything sounds like noise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EVERYTHING SOUNDS LIKE NOISE!!!!!!! I don't trust anyone! Very judged very scrutinized very criticized! I want everyone to know I have lows all the time but I make it through them! Yo I really wonder if Matt Lauer thought that shit was cool to play the 'MTV' clip while I was speaking about Bush? He played clips of Bush and asked me to look at his face while I was trying to talk to him. I wish Michael Jackson had twitter!!!!!! Maybe Mike could have explained how the media tried to set him up!!! It's all a fucking set up!!!! This is rock and roll life my people... you can't stop the truth you can't stop the music and I have to be strong or 'they' win!!!! . Sometimes it's not simple, some days it's not easy... I just want to create. I love you guys, thanks for the support!"
Wow. Just, wow. Kanye really must think he’s Jesus Christ himself. Have you ever in your life seen anyone more narcissistic?! The more he talks the less I want to hear his music.

According to NBC’s website, Sandy will sit down with Matt Lauer of the Today show. The interview will take place in New Orleans, where Bullock now lives with her son Louis.
There’s no doubt they’ll discuss Sandra’s whirlwind year she’s had. But we hope little Louis is there too so we can learn more about the new chapter in her life!
She’s come so far in such a short period of time, and she’s definitely waited long enough to speak out.

Her daughter got a DUI before she was legally allowed to drink and walked into a police station with cocaine in her pocket after allegedly kidnapping a couple of people. The judge sentenced her to 90 days in jail and 90 days in rehab, but according to Dina, her daughter didn't deserve a single day of that and she blames the judge for Lindsay's problem. Wake up woman!
In a new interview with the Today Show, an argumentative Dina placed blame on the judge and insists there's absolutely nothing wrong with her daughter's behavior.
"I'm not condoning drinking and driving, but she's still paying the price for what she did in 2007," said an often-agitated Dina, referring to Lindsay's two DUI cases from three years ago. As for Lindsay, "She's changed," says her mother. "She's grown up considerably."
When asked how or what brought upon this big "change," Dina told Today's Matt Lauer, "Age. Living life. Knowing life. Growing up."
Lindsay ended up pissing off the judge when she skipped a court hearing to party in Cannes, but of course Dina had an excuse for that too. "She was in [jail] for just missing a couple of classes and was working at the time."
In addition, Dina noted, by Lindsay's being behind bars, "She missed driving classes." The actress also came into personal contact with murderers, said her mother, adding, "She made friends with them."
It's like Dina has a journal of excuses when it comes to Lindsay. She refuses to accept the fact that Lindsay has a serious substance abuse problem and needs professional help. No wonder Lindsay could never get it together, her enabling mother was always there to assure her there's nothing wrong with her behavior!

According to the report, Mama Lohan will spill the beans exclusively to Matt Lauer. She’s expected to discuss everything from her daughter’s stint in jail, as well as her current rehab treatment.
But knowing Dina, she’ll probably play the victim and blame everyone except herself and her daughter. Expect a few digs on Michael Lohan as well!
The interview will air sometime between 7AM and 11AM tomorrow morning, so tune in!
