Rihanna and her boyfriend Matt Kemp have only been dating for eight months, but the marriage rumors have already begun.

Sources close to Matt are telling Us Weekly that the L.A. Dodger is ready to pop the question.

"They are in love," says a source. "Seeing them interact, it's definitely possible he could propose -- but it'd have to be a long engagement, because they're both so focused on their careers."

The two have such busy lives that they barely see each other, so what makes their relationship work?

"He centers her, as he has a more normal life," a pal close to Rihanna says. "He allows her space, but they text and talk all the time. And they really have fun like kids when they're together. They like to laugh and be silly."

Rihanna is only 22 years old and at the peak of her career. It's probably a little too soon for her to think about marriage.

Things seem to be getting quite serious between Rihanna and boyfriend Matt Kemp. Just a couple weeks ago, we hard a rumor that the two were pretty much living together, and that Rihanna told Matt he could officially move in once spring training was over.

And now we hear the pop princess is so smitten with her man that she’s contemplating marriage! Sources tell The Daily Mail, “Rihanna is head over heels in love with Matt. She has told friends she’d love to marry him. She’d be so happy if he got down on one knee and popped the question.”

Maybe marriage is on Rihanna’s mind right now because her good friend Katy Perry is getting hitched soon. The two are really close, and Rihanna is even throwing Katy her bachelorette party. Usually when a good friend is planning their wedding, it puts the idea into your own head!

Yesterday, an disturbing story surfaced claiming Rihanna’s new man Matt Kemp had a history of violence with an ex-girlfriend. The woman even came forward with a restraining order she claimed she was forced to get while the two were living together.

Kemp’s people have since responded to the report. The say in a statement:

"Matt dated Felisha about two years ago and decided to end their relationship. She chose to file a complaint and shortly thereafter, on her own accord, decided to drop it…. She has very recently said that she has no issue whatsoever with Matt and that she and Matt consider this to be a non-issue. Matt Kemp is a consummate Midwestern gentleman who has never displayed any act of violence towards a woman."

Felisha’s people in turn released a statement of their own, saying:

“Felisha Terrell and Matt Kemp lived together and were in a relationship for over a year where they both cared for one another. During the course of the relationship there was a restraining order filed by Felisha but it had nothing to do with domestic violence and to be clear Matt was never physically abusive to Felisha, nor did she fear for her life. The restraining order was subsequently vacated. They both have moved on separately but remain amicable.”

Interesting that she would change her story so quickly! We’re glad to hear it! Rihanna needs to surround herself with positive and non-threatening people!
