Matt Bellamy. biography
English musician Matthew James Bellamy was born on June 9, 1978, in Cambridge and developed his interest in music at an early age in part of his father George Bellamy's success as a member of the instrumental band The Tornados.
Most recognized as the lead singer, guitarist, songwriter and pianist of the rock band Muse, Bellamy recently gained a different type of fame as the fiancé of actress Kate Hudson.
After jumping from band to band in the beginning of his career, Bellamy joined forces with bass guitarist Christopher Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard to form the rock band Rocket Baby Dolls in 1994, which they eventually changed to Muse in hopes of sounding more professional. Although the band initially failed to gain status within the music industry, their unique blend of experimental, alternative, art and progressive rock ultimately established them as an up-and-coming rock powerhouse.
The band has since released six critically acclaimed albums, including Showbiz (1999), Origin of Symmetry (2001), Absolution (2003), Black Holes and Revelations (2006), The Resistance (2009) and The 2nd Law (2012).
