Tyler Perry has scored a super star for his next film! Mary J. Blige has agreed to star in I Can Do Bad All By Myself. And the stardom doesn’t stop there. Tyler has also cast Oscar-nominated Taraji P. Henson opposite Mary.
The film, which is adapted from one of his early plays, is about a woman named Madea whose family comes to visit her when she falls ill.
Blige will play nightclub manager Tanya who is best friends with Henson’s character, named April. This is Mary’s first on-screen appearance since her 2007 stint on Entourage. And we hear through Billboard that she’ll be appearing on a popular primetime TV series this year as well.
Details will be announced at a later date.
Mary is also working on an album slated to drop later this year. Busy girl! I Can Do Bad All By Myself is scheduled for a nationwide release this September.
