The film, directed by Martin Scorsese, is set in the Boston area in 1954. Leo’s character, up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels, is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital.
He's been wanting to do an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister.
Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open.
As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.
Check out the trailer below. Shutter Island is in theaters in February 2010.

The two have worked together on several classic films including Casino, Taxi Driver and Goodfellas. This film is called I Heard You Paint Houses, and it's about the assassin believed to have killed union leader Jimmy Hoffa.
Scorsese is directing the film with DeNiro playing the lead, mob hitman Frank "the Irishman" Sheeran, believed to have been responsible for more than 25 mob murders. Steven Zaillian, who won an Oscar for Schindler's List and who co-wrote Scorsese's Gangs of New York, will write the adaptation.
Scorsese and De Niro will jointly produce the film through their respective companies.

Jonathan Demme will direct the yet to be titled film which should be released sometime in February 2010 which happens to mark the 65th anniversary of his death.
Demme said that he is "thrilled and humbled" to work with the Marley family on the project.
This should be a really cool film. It’s a bummer that Scorsese backed out but Demme is as good so it should be good.

Martin Scorcese's latest collaboration with Leonardo DiCaprio sounds very mysterious. It's called Shutter Island, and stars Emily Mortimer and Jackie Earle Haley who play mental patients. DiCaprio and Mark Ruffalo play two U.S. marshals who travel to a Massachusetts island to investigate the disappearance of a patient from a hospital for the criminally insane.
Chaos ensues as they encounter a web of deceit, a hurricane and a deadly inmate riot that leaves them trapped on the island. Max Von Sydow will play one of the hospital's physicians.
Ben Kingsley, Michelle Williams and Patricia Clarkson also star in the film, which was adapted by Laeta Kalogridis from "Mystic River" author Dennis Lehane's 2004 novel.

A documentary made by Scorsese about the legendary rock band, The Rolling Stones. Focusing mainly on two concerts during their recent "A Bigger Bang" tour, the film will also feature historical footage showing their evolution.
Singers Christina Aguilera, Jack White and Bill Clinton all make cameos in this film. By the look of the trailer Martin definitely brings Rock N Roll back, with a new twist. The Rolling Stones truly define what Rock N Roll is, even if they are ancient. Check out the movie trailer below.
