With the Emmy’s set to hit TV screens this weekend, the Ted actor is revving into the competitive spirit.
Mark Wahlberg hopes 2012 will be the year that his HBO series “Boardwalk Empire” will prevail over nemesis show “Mad Men” for Outstanding Drama.
Hollyscoop caught up with Mark for a pre-Emmy chat, where he admitted that adding a new award to his self wouldn’t hurt…
“I would like one of those big statues for my house I don’t have one,” he says.
Mark continues, adding that, if this year isn’t the winning season for “Boardwalk Empire,” next year surely will be.
“The new season in phenomenal and we will have a chance next year again -- it is good just to be nominated,” he adds.
Season 3 of the series, starring Steve Buscemi and Micahel Shannon, premiered earlier this week.
Despite Wahlberg’s massive talent – both in front and behind the camera – he has yet to take home an Emmy. He has been nominated a total of five times for both “Boardwalk Empire” and “Entourage.”
As Hollyscoop previously reported, the film adaptation of “Entourage” is set to start filming this coming spring.
After "Empire," his second choice for the award is close to home…
“If 'Boardwalk Empire' doesn’t win then hopefully ‘Game of Thrones’ will win. We want to keep it in the HBO family,” says Mark.
In addition to the on screen projects, the actor and producer is currently promoting his new nutritional products MARKED by GNC. According to Mark, the supplement project is something he has “wanted to do for a very long time.”
Cross your fingers and tune in with us on Sunday to see if Mark and the cast and crew of “Boardwalk Empire” come out on top.
