Mark Wahlberg gave one of the best performances of his career in The Fighter, but he was still left off the coveted Best Actor list for this years Academy Awards nominations.
The Oscar snub came as a huge surprise as it took Mark years to put the movie together, but he's still humbled the movie getting nominated.
"It's OK because I did get nominated for producing," Mark told Hollyscoop EXCLUSIVELY at the 17th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
"I would love to have 20 nominations personally, but I was a producer first and foremost," Mark told HS. "I was the person that got the movie made and to be recognized in that way, I'm slowly trying to get behind the scenes anyway."
Mark confessed that he's putting acting on the back burner for a while. "I need to spend time with my wife and kids and acting takes you for long period of time," he told HS.
He may a good sport about it, but I was disappointed to learn he wasn't nominated. He did a fantastic job in The Fighter, and even if he wasn't named Best Actor, he definitely deserved at least a nomination!
