After 14 years of “Law & Order: SVU” Mariska Hargitay can’t seem to say good-bye to the show.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hargitay just signed a new deal with Universal Television to continue with the show next season, however, the show itself hasn’t been officially renewed for another season, but if it does, Hargitay is safe.
After 14 years of doing the same show over and over, Hargitay apparently doesn’t get bored of it.
Fun Fact: Hargitay makes $500,000 per episode, but she’s still not the highest paid actress on TV.
She ties for third place amongst televisions highest paid actresses, making $10 million a season.
It’s actually Tina Fey and Eva Longoria who get paid the most, with $13 million a year. Tina stars in and executive produces her show “30 Rock” and Eva Longoria is just the biggest name on “Desperate Housewives.”
But back to “Law & Order,” Hargitay gushes over the new vibe of this season since gaining a new showrunner and two new cast members.
“This new cast came on, and I had no idea what to expect – and we had a new showrunner,” she revealed at NBC’s Summer Press Day on Wednesday, “The show this year is awesome and different and has done into different areas, and I get to play different things; my own story of having a boyfriend after 13 years…My character has gone on this unbelievable person journey that is both reflected in her personal life and the storylines.”
